April 2024
Peoples Church family and friends,
This week, Cincinnati City Council voted unanimously to approve our New Build’s Planned Development zoning. This is the “golden ticket” (as Pastor Chris has called it) that we have been praying for and working toward for months.
This is what we all fasted and prayed for just two weeks ago. When we gathered at the church campus to pray on Wednesday, April 10, we prayed for this approval to happen smoothly and in the Lord’s timing, and look what He has done.
Let’s make sure we take time this week to say, “Thank you, Lord!”
What’s next?
We continue to give thanks to the Lord for enabling us as a congregation to have already given over $2 million to Him for the building of His local church. Let’s be bold and pray that God will open the floodgates for the rest of the $60 million this year, as we continue to lead the way by giving toward our congregation’s $6 million goal.
Let’s also continue to give thanks to the Lord for His protection and guidance over us thus far. Let’s pray that the place He has in mind for us as a transition location would accept our application in a timely manner, and that the relationships forming between us and our potential hosts would be a blessing to every person involved.
Then, once we have $20 million in cash raised, eyes on the remaining $40 million, and a transition location confirmed, we will begin the transition process. We expect this will not be happening anytime before October this year. Depending on how the Lord leads us, it could be some time after that. We know from experience that He alone is in control of our timeline!
There are two main reasons we believe we will not be moving off our current campus before October: 1.) We expect it will take time for these funds ($20 million) to be raised; and 2.) our architect team is in the third phase of four design phases that must take place before construction begins, and this work takes time.
Thank you for your commitment to the Lord, your sincere generosity, and your heart to follow Jesus as He alone leads us.
We are excited and hopeful for the future He is leading us into!
In Him,
Alek
